Terms of Service
Last updated 15 September 2026.
1. Who these terms are with
KalmPass is provided by KalmForge ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What the service is
KalmPass stores encrypted data on your behalf. Encryption and decryption happen on your device. We provide storage, synchronisation between your devices, and the surrounding account features.
3. Your account
- You must be 13 or older, and provide an email address you control.
- One person per account. Do not share credentials.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must keep your master password and your Recovery Key safe. They are the only means of access, and we cannot reissue either.
4. What we cannot do. Read this one
We cannot recover your data if you lose both your master password and your Recovery Key. This is not a policy we could choose to waive. Your vault is encrypted with keys we have never possessed, so there is no key, override or support process capable of decrypting it. If both are lost, the data is permanently and irretrievably gone.
You accept this as a condition of using the service, and you accept that keeping your own backups, which the app produces in one click, is your responsibility.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use KalmPass to store or distribute unlawful material;
- attempt to gain access to another person's account or data;
- interfere with the service's operation, including automated attempts to exhaust its resources;
- resell or redistribute the hosted service without our written agreement.
Security research is welcome. Testing against your own account, without degrading the service for others and without accessing anyone else's data, does not breach these terms. Please report findings to security@kalmpass.net.
6. Plans and payment
- The Free plan is provided at no cost, with the limits shown on our pricing page.
- Pro is billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices include VAT where applicable.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; we do not refund part-months except where consumer law requires it.
- UK and EU consumers have a 14-day right to cancel from purchase. By starting your subscription immediately you ask us to begin supply within that period; you may still cancel and be charged only for what you have used.
- If a subscription lapses, your vault becomes read-only rather than being deleted. You can always read, export and delete your own data.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing prices.
7. Availability
We aim to keep KalmPass available continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we do not offer a contractual uptime commitment on these plans. We may perform maintenance, and will avoid disruption where we reasonably can.
8. Ending the agreement
You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your data immediately. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law; except in cases of serious abuse we will give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your data first.
If we discontinue the service we will give at least 60 days' notice so you can export everything.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Subject to that, the service is provided as-is, and our total liability arising from it is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for loss of data caused by your loss of your master password or Recovery Key, nor for loss arising from compromise of your own device.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 30 days before taking effect. Continuing to use KalmPass after that constitutes acceptance; if you do not accept, you may cancel and export your data.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be heard by its courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country.
